Black Lotus Arabica
This very special coffee comes from the Đưng K'Nớ Village in the Lạc Dương district of Lâm Đồng province, about 40km away from Đà Lạt city. The farmers in this area are known as the K'Ho people, a matriarchal community that were initially nomadic people, but have now settled in the mountains of Lâm Đồng province.
The export partner involved works closely with the approximately 500 households that make up the farms in this area to improve farming and harvesting methods in order to bring in better revenue for these families and to limit the environmental impact of coffee production. The farmers are paid daily, including the premium for ripeness involved in specialty coffee sourcing, and full traceability is ensured as it can be traced back to the farmer who produced it and the exact day it was delivered to the coffee collection point.
The processing for this particular lot is referred to as "Anaerobic Gem", where the coffee is fermented for 48 hours in anaerobic conditions and then sun-dried for roughly 3 weeks, until they reach ideal moisture content.
We're excited to share these beans with you - they taste great in a pour-over, with fruity and vibrant flavors and aromas! We get hints of tropical fruit, as well as blackberry, strawberry jam, vanilla, and fudge in the final cup. We hope you enjoy!
